'06 yz450f motor

Been running an '85 CR500 built by Becker for years. I'm looking at purchasing an '06 yz450f to see how I like the power on short tracks. I found a complete one without a head for $400. Not sure if this is a good deal or not? Any input would be appreciated.

the head is the most expensive part IMHO...... I run a 16-17 yz450Fi motors and LOVE them on the short track cuz if you screw up you just put your foot down.....no having to worry about keeping the motor in the powerband like the CR500.

Prolly not . Whys the head gone would be my question .
My experience with basket cases is "expensive " .
