my local mower shop doesn't carry predator parts, but did have a honda 160 head gasket that was almost a perfect match.. firing ring was a little small.. anyone ever use the 160 gasket ? anyone ever try to put the 160 head on the hemi motor.?? good or bad idea on the head? maybe to little flow??

Thanks

Briggs uses a gasket without a fire ring on the LO206.

use a dremel on the ID of the gasket to get to size. if the fire ring stays on, leave it. The head will keep it pinched and in place.
Don't sweat it if it comes off. Use some Yammabond if you are worried about it.

Or make your own aluminum or copper gasket with sealer.

If you are running this Predator as it came out of box,, meaning you have not decked the block or installed a longer rod to bring piston to top of cylinder then the gasket you got will work.. The pistons are approx .020-.025 below the deck out of the box on either engine..

As for the 160 / 14cc head.. it will add compression for sure which will help torque, take off and bottom end.. It does have smaller valves BUT if you are still running a stock carb and or just rejetted carb then the smaller valve set up can possibly be a benefit... The Predators are VERY VERY under carbureted for the ports,, valves and cylinder size...
