2 Disk versus 3 Disk

So when I started racing 10 years ago I loved a 3 Disk bully on an animal. Since that clutch needed a l lot of work I just switched to a 2 Disk been running a cheetah and bully. What I'm wondering is, is a 3 disk overkill for a small 1/6th mile running animal. I like running a 2 Disk but it just doesn't feel like it engages as hard as the 3 disk. Also I don't see to many people out there anymore running a 3 disk.

Overkill?

we ran a two disc and a three disc both bully clutch's.
Ran the three disc more in the end. we were mostly above weight.
It's said its overkill though it worked for us.

It's only overkill until you get a lot of cautions and restarts.
3 disc will dissipate heat 50% better than a 2 disc.

We run a 2 disc Bully on our sr champ kart (unrestricted animal @ 425#.)
2 disc is what I prefer, but if you're experiencing trouble with your current 2 disc, I wouldn't hesitate to jump to a 3 disc.
As far as that "feel" of engagement, there's no reason that you can't get your 2 disc to hit as hard as a 3 disc. It just may need some work (shameless plug for our clutch services.) :)
