2008 seat slider

Have a 2008 Laser I am told a Momentum. The seat sliders have a bar welded between them. It looks factory. I haven't mounted the seat but it looks like to me it would be better if the sliders weren't connected. I may make new sliders but I was wondering if it came like this. If it did did you have trouble mounting the seat.
 
If they are round . The bar would keep them from rotating .
Not seeing what you have makes a determination hard .
Just cut the bar off if its an issue .
 
Wish I could post a picture. I may have to weld a tab on and cut the bar off. When I get ready to mount the seat I should know then. I guess this must work though. Might be according to what brand seat you use.
