2015 INVERNESS GRAND PRIX CLASSES
AKC KID KARTS
With guests-min. 225lbs, BSP red plate. Ages 5-7

AKC JR SPORTSMAN
With guests-min. 285lbs, BSP purple plate. Ages 8-11

AKC MODIFIED/HEAVY

CHAMP KARTS Jr/Sr

Except for “KID KART” 8 karts will constitute a class. Entrants in classes which have less than 8 karts may be offered the opportunity to run in a class of like performance. Weights may be adjusted to insure parity.
Additional classes may be added if there is sufficient interest.
Race results are not official until after post race tech and confirmation by the Competition Committee.
 
What are these regs and why different from the other classes?

LO206/Clone Jr/Sr.
Georgia Sprint Kart Assoc regs.
 
. Champ kart regs are as follows:
1. Flatheads and Box Stock (bsp) engines only, unless given permission by the race director.
2. Open clutch driver rule
3. Engine must be WKA legal.
4. Open tire rule
5. Open pipe rule
6. FKA carb allowed
7. Minimum FH weight with driver is 410 pounds, Minimum BSP weight with driver is 425 pounds, as weighed following race.
8. Minimum seat height not enforced.
9.All lead MUST be painted white. No other color, regardless of how bright or luminescent it is, will be allowed.
10. All drivers must have a full SFI (fire-rated) drivers suit. One, or two-piece suits are allowed, unless given permission by the race director

Filter Youth Development is the charity which The Inverness Grand Prix loves to support. The Groups program is based on the premise that at risk children mentored by caring adults builds better adults.

The link will take you to Filters Facebook page with insights to their unique approach to youth development combining the fun of motor sport activities with large doses of concern and education. The Children learn to examine their true feelings acting in a thoughtful manner rather than a reactive one.

The effort put forth by the Filter organization and the results they achieve make us proud that they are associated with the Grand Prix and grateful for their efforts on our behalf and more importantly on the lives of those they touch.

OPEN TIRES: Given it is the end of the season for many series we do not wish to have entrants have to purchase different tires for the Inverness Grand Prix. Tires will be open to any brand.
 
Pending the number of entrants it is most likely that the kart would run in the LO206/Clone class, the link will take you to the regs for that class:

We need to promote this race and not keep it a secret. Make it a sticky and post it everywhere what ever class start a thread.Remember this is for Charity.We can get a lot of left turn only Dirt karts to show up We just need to GET THE WORD OUT.Thanks wayne howe
 
RENEWED INTEREST IN CHAMP KARTS

The 2014 Inverness Grand Prix exposed the streets of Inverness to a strong performance by the Champ Kart field.
Sadly the weather played havoc with entries for last years Champ Kart entries.
Though quite unusual the site of Champ Karts in a street race the competitors provided great racing adding diversity while endearing themselves to State wide fans who attend the event.
Here is looking forward to a strong field and some great racing.

If u want a decent turnout and plenty of entries For a good cause please take the time to update the program for the 2016 event not the same old post for the 2015 race the 2cycle class has a different format than the 2015 had.Just look at the other tread that hoppy posted a few days ago and make corrections if you expect or want a good field of karts this time around and Lets Make this event Huge.Thank you very much for including the 2cycle racers in your program again this year lets make this years event a great one to remember.Thanks Wayne Howe:cool:
 
Is this race going to happen in 2016? It look's like a bunch of old posts.I am about 10 hrs. away and plan to make the trip down to Fla. ] WHO'S IN] thanks Chuck.
 
This is the sixth annual event it will happen. Sorry the posts seem to get so spread out but that's the nature of the beast. Come have a good time at event for a great cause.
