WEEDSPORT, NY (December 13, 2022) – Slack Karts will return as the premier partner of the 2023 Slack Karts Super Kart Series at Weedsport Kartway, presenting a brand new Slack Pursuit Chassis to one lucky Weedsport Kartway member at season’s end.

The new kart will be presented to a Kartway member that attends all seven events on the Slack Karts Super Kart Series trail, which is slated for April 29-30, June 11, July 23, September 17 and October 14-15.

The winner will be determined by a random draw of all members that have perfect attendance at the conclusion of Octoberfest Weekend.

“The Slack Karts Super Kart Series has evolved into quite the championship schedule for kart racers in our region,” said Weedsport Speedway promoter, Jimmy Phelps. “It has been proven that the Short Port is a tough place to win. When you combine the stout competition with what is on the line, you get a championship race that is well worth being a part of. Thank you to Slack Karts for once again supporting this effort in 2023.”

The Slack Pursuit racing chassis from Slack Karts is a state of the art winning chassis that is available in a sit-up sprint version, as well as a Champ kart.

Slack Karts is committed to building the best chassis, designed for all racers whether they are experienced or just getting started. Slack offers a variety of chassis options as standard, as well as a long list of upgrades that can be added to allow racers to create the perfect chassis for individual track needs.

To learn more about Slack Karts, located on 80 Telegraph Rd. in Middleport, NY, visit online at www.pmckart.com or call (716) 735-3500.

The Slack Karts Super Kart Series will follow Weedsport’s traditional formatting of Sunday afternoon racing, book ended by two huge weekends in April and October.

The April 29-30 Spring Meltdown will feature all eight points divisions on each day along with a slate of PRO events. Saturday will include a $250 to win PRO Clone Super Heavy main and the $1,000 to win Spring Meltdown 30 for PRO Clone 360. Sunday will come back with a $250 to win PRO Jr. Unrestricted main and the $2,000 to win Spring Meltdown 40 for PRO Clone 360.

The second annual Spring Meltdown Weekend will also feature the first Weedsport Kartway Klash for adult Clone pole winners in 2022. All drivers that set quick time for any Clone Light, Clone Heavy, Clone Super Heavy, PRO Clone Super Heavy or PRO Clone 360 Super Kart Series mains in 2022 are eligible for the Klash, which will run as part of the April 29 schedule at 360 weight.

Last year’s pole winners that wish to take part in the Klash will run for a total purse of $400, with $150 going to the winner. No entry-fee will be required for the 10-lap dash, which will be lined up by a ‘revenge draw’ format.

Kart Cup returns on Sunday, June 11 and will feature the same eight weekly point classes, as well as PRO Clone 360, with $1,500 in winning’s up for grabs across a Twin 20 format. Each PRO 360 Twin 20 will again pay $500 to win, followed by another $500 going to the driver with the best overall finish.

The fourth round of the Slack Karts Super Kart Series will be the Summer Nationals, taking place on Sunday, July 23. All of Weedsport’s point classes will be capped off with a 35-lap PRO Clone 360 finale, paying $1,500 to win.

The James Shutts Memorial will return to the schedule on Sunday, September 17. The day’s eight point classes will be joined with the $1,022 to win James Shutts Memorial PRO Clone Super Heavy special, as well as a $1,000 to win PRO Clone 360 main.

Octoberfest Weekend will finish out the year on October 14-15, with two separate days of action.

The Saturday, October 14 opener will see all eight point divisions plus a $250 to win PRO Blue Clone main, the $500 to win NYS Clone Invitational and the $1,000 to win Octoberfest 30 for PRO Clone 360.

The Sunday, October 15 finale will see Slack Karts Super Kart Series champions crowned in all eight divisions as well as $500 to win PRO Jr. Unrestricted, $500 to win PRO Clone Super Heavy, and the Octoberfest 40 paying $2,000 to win.

One drop will be permitted for points divisions as part of the Slack Karts Super Kart Series, with the best six of seven events counting toward the overall tally. In the event a race is completely lost to rain, a driver’s best five of six races will count. If two events are lost to rain, drops will be eliminated.

Leather jackets will once again be awarded to division champions, as long as a minimum of four events are run. All points classes will again run for weekly prize money in 2023, based on an entry scale.

More specific details on the 2023 schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. All classes will still utilize AKRA Clone guidelines for the coming season, as well as Burris 33 tires.
