3d Printing a carb adapter to pz22

I want to get my briggs flat head running and not spend a lot of money.I have a pz22 carb and a #d printer. My only concern is the adapter melting, I would like to use ABS plastic.By any chance would this work?

Vibration and the proximity of the exhaust will be problems. The weight of the carb hangs on typical intakes.

I have lost 2 aluminum intakes after the exhaust bolts loosened and heated the intake
If your design incorporates bracing and heat shielding, possible to make it work.

Interesting idea . I was just thinking of making a dual to single manifold .
What all design parameters are needed ?
I'm guessing you need all your dimensions , distances et-all so something drawn up in a cad program ?

EC carb's Flathead pz 22 intake. Great piece for the money. You might need to do a slight work on the intake opening to get a perfect match.unless your using OE pz 22 carb.

I did some research overnight and found PLA will be a better plastic than ADS. It will work up to 320 fahrenheit, will this be an issue ?

It could . I've seen 400 degrees head temp. Intake is a little lower , you have a gasket as an insulator . Plus fuel flowing through it . Also have the exhaust right there .

Skyler, I would be skeptical of using PLA over other materials. If heat and impact strength are concerns there are better choices. My knowledge is that PLA has a lower service temperature and glass transition temperature (TG) when compared to say ABS. PLA will print better than ABS, but it will have lower thermal properties. The advantage of PLA is it's strength, but it is also brittle. Any strong impact will cause it to crack. I would suggest to look at nylon as it's offers good strength, higher elongation, and similar thermal properties to ABS.
