55hp possible from animal ?

Doing some bench racing n a buddy claims 55hp was pulled from a animal . Clearly it was not intended for sanctioned races . But is it even doable.

yea its Doable. You can at least claim its possible.

Simple answer: No

Nitrous bottle involved and resulting catastrophic failure before it comes off of the dyno: Possibly.

Hey, at least it was just bench racing between buddies....I get that -- but when it's a "professional" engine builder selling inflated numbers, then it's simply irritating.

Any one can claim to be an engine builder.
If someone is telling you they make 55 HP Animals what else is he going to lie to you about.
Or what does he really know about Animals or any other engine for that matter.
I'd really think about if i wanted him anywhere near my engine.
On my dyno a good stroker Animal with all the bells and whistles will make about 25 HP.
If you use a Briggs stroker (FH) crank in them you might break it the first time out.
You might get lucky and have it last a while but it will break!
I suppose if you only rev it to 5000 rpms it would last but not a 9000.
If you use a $400.00 ARC 6580 crank it solves the crank problem.
If you want to get more than 25 you need to go to a really big bore and or use one of my billet heads.
