A Twentieth Anniversary

I just realized that this past week marks the 20th anniversary of a milestone event - 20 years ago, back in the second week in December, 1993, the first version of DOOM was uploaded to the University of Washington's computer network to begin public distribution and John Carmack, John Romero and ID Software revolutionized computer gaming. I stood Knee Deep in the Dead, walked The Shores of Hell and survived the Inferno. Thanks, guys; I spent many happy hours learning to survive on a space station on Mars while dealing with demons that wanted to kill me. Only to be dumped unceremoniously back on earth to find that the demons from Mars had beat me home by a heartbeat...

So I had to buy Doom II to deal with that. :)
