Advancing timing on a stock 212 (gov'n removed)

Have you guys found much advantage to advancing the timing on a "stock build" (stock internals, stock airbox, stock carb) with an open pipe? If so, what's your recommendations?

Thanks, Matt

I dont know about the stock airbox. But advancing it definitely is a good think to do. Is flywheel stock or billet? The PLV Flywheel has a built in advance and puts that flywheel at 28 degrees. The ARC billet one has 32 degree advance built in. It is a good noticeable difference that I think will still improve performance with stock airbox but if you ever take the airbox off then I would say you will take complete advantage of the advanced timing. If stock flywheel you can put a timing key to advance.

If its a stock flywheel and you put an offset key in it BE SURE you have properly got the flywheel lapped onto the crank good. The thin key does little, if anything, to deter the flywheel from wanting to walk.
