Air filters

Question for you dirt racers. Whats the best filter, outers and oil methods to protect engines on very dusty dirt race tracks.

Thanks
Steve

I prefer to use an oiled K&N filter with an outerwears wrap. I do wipe a little bit of oil on the inside neck of the filter as a last method of prevention but these wraps and filters get it done.

Big fan of the UNI stuff for open two cycles being they’re spring loaded foam filters with an outer element, great protection, you can choke the motor without bagging it or pulling the filter to start, and you have a way to kill it if it runs away because pulling the spark boot won’t kill the motor at 20K rpm’s. For 4 cycle stuff the K&N with an outerwear is just fine as long as you don’t blow it out with air. Never ever ever do that.
