Lexington Ohio... Mid Ohio Sports Car Course, America’s Premier Road Racing Course welcomed an impressive number of karters from across the US competing in several participating series. The opening American Kart Racing Association (AKRA) National Road Race series kicked off their 2020 Road Racing season at the Lexington Ohio track as did event host the Dart Kart Club (DKC).

Hats off to the DKC board of directors, all the workers and volunteers whose tireless work made this event happen. A big thanks also goes out to the Mid Ohio track management and staff for their efforts and dedication to Karting to make this event a big success during difficult times.

Friday practice entries in exceeded 200. Daily race entries were in the mid 600's, and participating drivers of 250 for the 3-day event. Both paddocks were full forcing many to pit in the overflow areas making this one for AKRA’s record book.

Also, a big thanks goes out to the racers and support people for the effort they put in to making this event a huge success and that includes the folks that chose to stay home for the best interest of Karting and personal health. Thank you all.

Hopefully this momentum will carry into the season’s second race at Grattan Raceway July 10-12 in Belding, MI hosted by CES. Then four weeks from now, July 24-26, they will challenge each other on another legendary Ohio road course, Nelson Ledges Raceway, in Garrettsville, Ohio hosted by Dart Kart Club.
