Building modified animal used stock crank billet rod and piston aftermarket cam world formula head having problems shearing key ways any idea ehy
 
"key" or "key way"? Is it true some use no key at all? Have you cut the key? How much? Could be a problem with tappers, crank or flywheel?
 
New flywheel we have tapered put square in still all the same we tryed retighned nut and it hasnt broken it again we will see tonight
 
after lapping the flywheel to the crankshaft, coat both flywheel and crankshaft with Dr Pepper... been doing this for years and hardly ever use a key
 
When you lap, it helps to know the fit you're going for. You want it to grab more on the big part of the taper. You can check this by making ink lines on the shaft with a sharpy then spin the fly wheel a little to see where the ink rubs off.
 
Well believe it or not there is a 2 liter of Dr. Pepper in my traction additive for “racing on non track surfaces”. It gets sticky!

ive heard that dr pepper is having a hard time obtaining the ingredients they normally use in their formula, and people in different areas a re saying that the dr pepper in their area tastes different??????????
 
oh and yes, lapping and torquing down the flywheel is a MUST with an engine your gonna be turning 8000+ rpms on an ongoing basis....
