axle

What axle is best for what conditions? I think I may have the wrong axle because I have been fighting a few issues with my kart towards the end of the year. And so I am trying to fix it. There are 2 reasons I think it acted that way.

Thin or aluminum for high bite . Is my thought.
They also slow weight transfer, putting less load on rr .

I am putting a steel axle on my kart and putting a clamp on the chassis where there is cut in the middle of the chassis and I have been told to try and clamp it off and see what it does so we are gonna do some testing before next seasons first race and see how she likes it.

I put the kart togethor myself back and put an aluminumn axle in it but I need a shorter one anyways so we are going to test out steel.
You ran all season and did not bend it ?
very good . we never seemed to go more then 3 races .
Thick is .190 if memory serves me right .

I only ran like 6 or 7 nights and 4 of the nights I ran 2 different classes. It was a super long axle too. The end of the axle was even with the outside of the LR and the RR. But nope never bent it. But I did use the nose a decent bit.

Sure there is a time and a place for thin or aluminum. Majority of the time a standard axle is going to be best.
