Bearing side cover/crankcase cover

The bearing on the side cover I have is more of a slip fit, and I can spin the outer race of the bearing inside the cover with a little finger pressure. Is this acceptable? If not is there any way to tighten it up?

Mine are similar .
Some are a little tighter then others .
That's actually how they were designed .
The bearing originally is press fit on crank , slip fit in side cover .

My only worry is that during normal operation the bearing is going to spin in the outside race and wear away the aluminum housing.

The idea of slip fitting the bearing to the crank (other than for obvious ease of maintenance) was to allow the crank to self-align in the block for WKA/IKF builds.

Thousands of hours on some of these engines and no problems with the case wearing in stock classes....Now, high rev limiteds and opens = another story.
