best S/A carb

I would say Dovers S/A carbs have used both gas and alky on my customer motors
and my own stuff. The best of the best I think

That would be hard too dis-agree w/ John! I wud guess that the guy's w/ the dyno's know Best, but...many of them build carbs also. If 'any' offered me a 'test' carb...i'd 'test' it!!

We have not got the carbs on the dyno yet...
But on the flow bench....comparing a stock gx200, stock ruxxing, bored ruxxing(.680), bored GF3(.680), and a Stock Holy Moses...
The Holy Moses flowed way up there...not quite as good as the bored carbs but close...

So I would say the Dover S/A carb would be a #1 pick...

The Dover is a great piece!! I have built a few S/A carbs that make more power than my Dover, but they are larger (and I wouldn't build one for the price of a Dover either).

I am running the .625 without the butterfly nugget or choke wing. Its a pain to start, but I found that a good heat cycle before you start it with a propane forced air heater is good to get it loose. One it goes, it goes HARD - at least until you wind up on the corners!

I would look at the NR carb with the .625 gas - they seem to have their stuff dialed up.
