Changing Cams

I'm changing cams from a 04-3 to a 96-3 do I need to re set the lifter gap or will it stay about the same?

Thanks,
Sundog

Valve lash will end up close, but .001 makes a pretty good difference so you should mount up a degree wheel and set up to the 96-3 spec. The number's won't always hit exact, go for the closing number if you can't get both to hit. Jon

This also depends on the base circle that the cam was ground on. IF they are both ground on the same base circle, you can (for the most part) drop it in and go.

As Jon suggested though, put a degree wheel on it and be certain that it is set up correctly.
