By 2009, Hypers had been equipped with torsion bar suspension for many years - even my 2002, the last of the narrow chassis models, could be had with torsion bar suspension, although, since I bought it used, I didn't have that option. The coil over has proven fine, but given the choice, I would buy torsion in the future, since I have had considerable experience with torsion bar suspension in full sized sprints and prefer it. You will find very few coil over Hypers out there starting about the 2005 model year and to get coil over, you specify it when ordering the car. I can't remember the last time I saw a coil over Hyper at a race here in south central PA, Hyper's home territory, other than mine, and that covers the span from 2004 through the present season.
