Here is the deal. In this thread the panel that I have selected will discuss the data behind the scenes. The panel will be announced on the solutions thread.

I’ve asked very specific people to be involved in this. Those will be the ONLY people to answer any questions.

I’ll post the guidelines for posting in the thread. Please don’t be offended if your post gets deleted. Answer all the specifics and we will get to you. Leave out required information, the post will be deleted. Simple as that.

The purpose is to try and find why racers are having certain handling issues.

Be warned, there are things we cannot control, like how your seat is mounted. That one data point is 100% critical! It will make or break you!

So, my point is, post what is asked, don’t ask any questions period! No one will give suggestions at all. It will be deleted! It’s all about data.

Your handling issues will come out in the discussions after the data is collected.

I just want everyone to know the rules. So don’t get offended if your post gets deleted!

who are the people? chassis manufacturers? factory drivers? prep developers? tire pros? how many WKA eagles, Slot Machines, Maxx Daddy's, King of the Clay, Burris national wins etc etc? is it people like Matt Connell, Tod Miller, 505 Cartel, Donnie Nall, Johnathan Cash, Jon Keister, Jared John, or Missy Bootes?

LOVE this idea!! There is SOO much more to kart racing than everything stated above. We've raced for years, have had an absolute blast, plan to stay in the sport until I'm way too old, and have not heard of ANY of that stuff or people. My kids and I have the same exact shot at NASCAR/F1 too LMBO!!

The sport is DESPERATE for new people and going against an absolute giant, that is, everything else entertaining them.

J-remy if you know those people, you should invite them to this forum.

I am genuinely curious. Bobs is nothing but a Q and A forum and if the same six helpful people are going to be answering questions without any debate it seems silly. why the need of an exclusive thread? Bob's has a beginners thread it must be 30 miles long at this point. If the thread was panel of Karting GOATS answering filtered questions I would be very interested to what they have to say. I do not take info from someone with a YouTube channel who gets free karts, free prep, free engines, free gear guards and tire washers who consistently are in LAST PLACE. or people with YouTube channels winning Predator races and then getting caught with cheated engines. I do not know where you race but I am in the southeast. My competition are people like Jacob Niebel, Barrett Terry, Rob sanders The 505 Cartel, and Jared John to name a few. I have spoken with Tod Miller Several times he's happy to give advice. Jared John is my tire guy and is a contributor to this site, the 505 Cartel know me and always talk to me at the track. I get motor Advice from Roy Whaley, Keith Stanfield and Luke Mcgee. Im not trying to brag. I want advice from serious racers with wins to back up the advice they're giving. getting advice from someone racing Predators in a backyard track in Utah is not the same as advice from Barrett Terry who used to bring home 2-3 WKA Daytona eagle trophies every year and is a factory Ultramax test driver. there used to be all kinds of pros on this site they no longer come here unless it to unload used equiptment in the personal items page.

Before this gets too ugly I’m going to step in. First off there are several on here who are going to purposely steer people in the wrong direction to limit competition. That is a fact!

The next thing is this panel is NOT filtering anything! PERIOD! We are simply going to look at setups to find a common thread in handling. Nothing more nothing less.

To give a little bit about me, I have 5 straight WKA National Championships as a setup man for Tony Keen. James Bryant was the owner/financer. Then 100’s of big wins with Greg Hicks all throughout the Southeast. We always ran at Liberty and Tyro because that’s where all the big teams were testing chassis.

You are simply not going to find people like Tod Miller or Donnie Nall on here giving advice.

So please keep this civil! If not, I’ll just delete your posts.
 
For the first time reveal yourself? Who are you? What’s your real name? Don’t hide behind a pseudo name on here.

I’m not going to name the panel because I don’t want them barraged with PM’s. They have enough on their plate.

Hell, I’ll invite you to the panel if you like. Just let me know.
 
I just wanna read some interesting and intelligent hypothesis and theories on chassis setup to help better my small hillbilly race team consisting of my son and I. I could care less how many national championships you have as long as you know what the heck you are talking about. I'm ready to learn msquared.

They're only the final ingredient in a well-prepared and well-tuned mix... The winning pros have every element together. That's why they're hard to beat. I imagine this thread will deal with what is common among chassis -- ie. what must a chassis do (what is its' purpose) and how does that principle apply to ALL chassis. I'll read with interest.
 
Just in looking at PM’s from various people, I’m pretty sure I already know the answers. Once I start to collect the data, I’ll know for sure. But then again, I’ll need to separate the BS! Let’s face it, there are always those people out there! They have nothing better to do and why they find fun in it? Well, one day their own tactics will come back to bite them! When it does, I hope it takes a big chunk out of their souls! They deserve it! There is no reason for it at all!

This is part of the problem, everyone is worried about someone's status and only want to take advice from certain people. (Usually it's the ones they agree with.)

Now, yes are there people out there giving advice that shouldn't be. Yes, are there people out there giving different advice than the norm, absolutely. But, does that disqualify them because they don't meet your standards or tell you what you want to hear. No, because it's people just like Mike that break that norm and some people would say he's crazy. I can promise you he's heard those words more times than he can count. Just like prep, just because it doesn't work for YOU, does not mean it doesn't work at all. Everyone sets karts up a little different, they prep a little different, they drive a little different. So different doesn't mean wrong. That's the biggest thing I've tried to get through to some of the newer people I've helped starting out.

Yes, it absolutely should be an anonymous board of people. Everyone wants the instant satisfaction of knowing whether or not they will even participate based on if they agree or not. I'm not saying everyone is qualified to give that information, hell I know I'm not. But, I can assure you if Mike is picking them to be on the board, there is good reason for it.

I ve got you. I know what you mean. The problem is these people on here who try to mislead people. I don’t know why, but they are just out there. I don’t know how they sleep at night.

I’ve setup many people, they even beat me! I was happy with that. It meant they out thought me. But there are some who just can’t be beat no matter what! They will win at any cost! It’s like they have no soul or anything.

Example. I ran at a local track for a few years. I supplied a guy with a kart for free! My goal was gathering information for my chassis manual. I sold a chassis that we won many races with. It was an MXK chassis (I’ll bet many don’t know who that was!) that I designed myself. Anyway, they somehow strong armed the chassis from the person I sold it to. They contacted MXK and set it up on their data. The kart sucked! They asked me about it. I told them what was wrong but they did not listen! They became my nemesis! I speant about $3k racing there. They spent well over $20k in tires, and bringing in tire people to beat me!

My point is you can beat these type people. But, what they spend to beat you, like myself, I had greater joy beating them on a limited budget and they had to spend thousands of dollars to just beat me. I hope it was worth it! Knowing them, it was. For me, I cost them a lot of money and for what?

This is what you all need to realize. Is it worth the money to do this or do you just enjoy it? I enjoy it, could care less where I finished. I had fun! Especially winning races against the best be it a driver or crew chief.

At one time, karting was my full-time job. Then we all went our different ways. I’ve spent many many miles on the road traveling. Now my traveling days are consumed with where we want live outside the US.
Like I’ve always said, I’d rather beat you by out driving you rather than out spending you. That’s the dream not the reality.
