I've built a dyno, I have broken in and ran quite a few engines, at $10, Unless you've done it, I wonder if anybody has any idea how generous that is. I'm impressed!!

We aren't dover or Jimmy rivers but our stuff runs well at the local level. Learning stuff each one we build.

Thats all I'm missing is the dyno and that precious TIME! Thats where the power is found, hours of trial and ideas and the dyno to prove what works and what doesn't. My motors do pretty well locally but I'd like to be able to offer more.
That's not a bad deal at all, I have a mod that need a Dyno too

Its actually RCJ's Dyno. He's helped me alot of the years. Inertia dyno
Tried a carb from a new builder last night. It made ok power but wouldn’t idle. Went from a .026 to .020 and idled better and picked up a small amount of torque in the 3800 to 4500 range with no lose in hp up top. I have only ran a couple of carbs from other people but this common.Dover carbs show the best power out of the box so I never change the idle jet.

Just asking, are you sure you’re not putting the air filter adapter on upside down? Blocking air bleeds

I was just wondering; was this carburetor previously run on a, maybe stock appearing or open? Something with much higher compression pressure, maybe Wilder cam?
