Clone cracks on top of cylinder

Is this common with clones 10 races since New 2 races since freshend. Was replacing a blown head gasket and seen this.

Yes , your air filter service, maintenance, and or type needs improvement .
Those are not cracks , its foreign material being rubbed up and down .
 
Could be improper ring prep, improper piston to wall prep, or even the skirt of the piston causing the problem.
 
Looks bad for a 2 race since fresh not to mention a head gasket that blew after 1 race. Was this rebuilt by a reputable builder?
 
Yea.. I'd change builders.... These days you should never blow a HG on a stock clone. No way, no how.

Those lines are either dirt ingestion or poor ring prep/dirt when assembling. Hope this isn't a big time builder...
 
If I paid someone to build an engine that blew the head gasket after 1 race I would be very upset. As for the lines, if it is a filter problem then that's on you. If it is because of a dirty build, improper ring prep, or piston to wall prep then I would be paying the builder a visit fully expecting a refund.
