Clutch questions for the predators

I did, it's still a disk clutch. Why do you say it's the wrong clutch?
This particular disk clutch made by SMC uses torsion springs not compression springs like a bully or horstman would use. To adjust you move the spring to a different hole to wind (increase tension) or unwind (decrease tension). Notice the springs are just wrapped around the post with no provision for an adjusting screw to compress the spring. The pic in post 5 shows this very well.
 
Look at the picture Al . Those are clock springs , not coil springs .
There is no adjusting screw .
Thank you, I see what you're saying. Here's another thought; how abou lightning up the counterweights? How about the factory seeing the problem and offering a lighter counterweight? A weaker spring? I have my doubts about removing two counterweights.

I think I would miss the easy adjustment of the Horstman.
 
Once you lighten the counter weight you can't go back .
Whose too say they don't make a lighter counter weight ?
Why is removing two springs a bad thing . They are tension adjustable .
Experienced racers say it works .
