Coil bind

Built new engine and went with a bigger cam than I normally run. With the new cam and ratio rockers the springs are starting to coil bind. If I get different valves(longer), is there anything else I am going to have to change/add? Pic of the springs below.

Research spring parameters necessary for your cam to work as designed.

Items you will need to know are seat pressure, spring rate (per inch lift), and pressure over the nose.
Of course, need clearance for valve to piston, and to coilbind.

More to doing it right than throwing a set of springs at longer valves.

Don't forget geometry changes as well.

My guess is no matter what spring you go with you are going to need to cut the spring pockets to lesson that bind

Do they sell a tool I can use to cut the spring pocket or is that something I’m going to have to take to a builder?
