Coleman starter

I have what I believe to be a coleman starter. Having trouble with output shaft or the"bendix". It makes grinding noise when connected to motor while trying to start it. Where is a new part available and if not can I trade this out for just a solid shaft? See picture.

where is it slipping . check the shaft mounting bolts

Slipping inside the aluminum collar or shaft.

I would try to get some lube down it . its just one way needle bearings what can you loose

Took this apart and bearing is shot. Found a bbearinghas anyone ever rebuilt these? Looking for advice.

No the link had a reply that the bearing would spin. After replacement . If i had the replacement i for sure would try it . Getting the old one out is probably the tricky part . Maybe theres enough romm too just push it down out of the way ?
