Compound?

I will be testing driving an asphalt track next week and I am only used to racing dirt...what compound tire should i use..I'll be running a 425 clone class.

Might mention the track name, many guys on here may know of it. Or best bet is to ask the local racers there or make a visit to see which tire they are on. There are so many possibilities we could never guess.

Just like dirt, pavement tracks can require many different things.
In general though, Vega Yellows are fast. Find out what others are running there currently and then plan on testing several different brands/compounds based on surface porosity, sealer, track temperature, etc.

What is the purpose of your testing?
To find the best tire, or to get seat time (practice)?

HUGE difference.
