cr 125 clutch issues

bought OUTLAW has cr 125 when engine is running pull in clutch lever put into gear dies.. clutch cable has full movement. however clutch never disengages gears stays in gear.. any suggestions
 
Possible that the clutch drum has gotten worn and notched and won't disengage clutch by allowing clutch pack to slide. Recommend pulling cover after draining gearbox, and examine. Replace with steel basket or hard anodized. Also a good time to examine / replace clutch springs, etc.
 
Check spec for clutch plates and friction disk clean well with Brad's brush or similar lightly sand friction disk to break surface check basket outer tabs you can flat file them just make sure to remove the same on each check with clutch disk don't need perfect but needs to work freely
 
Also check your mechanical release. Shaft or arm I have seen accurater arms worn. Can weld up and recut in a pinch some rods have balls or bearings that fell depends years and model. My. 61 cents hope it helps
