I was thinking of punching out my 50 mm. Bores to 54 mm.due to the shortage of the 50mm asso pistons.Do you think stock 100cc crank with 54mm piston would survive 45 minutes @15k which we run @ Daytona .What advantage ,power wise ,do you think 116cc vs 100cc would be?

There is a class around St Louis that run opens like that. I just bought a 115cc Reedjet that was run in that series. The only reason he sold it was they went to 150cc limit. So yes it will last.

I would say not much. There is a whole lot of 115's out there that are quite reliable. The 115's I've had years past had many shows on them between rebuilds. It is a little different road racing for 45min at a time but I wouldn't see any difference than what you'll find than running a 100cc only a little more power. I wouldn't hesitate running one for that show, only question is gas or alky? I like alky personally.jmo
