Cutting out windshield

This may be a dumb question but I’ve seen a bunch of champ karts with a clear windshield cut into the nose. I was wondering what people use to cut the nose with and how you went about cutting the nose cleanly

Most of those are more than likely Jr sportsman champ noses as that is how they come from factory

Cut off wheel on a grinder works well for me. Then just finish off with some sand paper for a smooth edge.

I like too tape the vents on the grinder . it helps with the glass blowing in your face.
taping the spot you want to cut may help a little with the edge.

A Rockwell sonicrafter, one of those vibrating saws doesn't make much dust. More like crumbs so it doesn't go airborne.

That probably very true.
I tried one of them once and was kinda like watching paint dry. I prefer instant results.

You had the wrong blade. I can cut the perimeter Of a fairing in a couple minutes. I have used a abrasive cutoff toll in the past and its not faster.

Cutoff wheel is pretty barbaric.
Another try could be worth it.

Very fine jig saw blade. I think 24ish

I've always used a jig saw. Cuts clean and fast without a ton of dust flying everywhere.

Jig saw with a diamond edge blade. Minimal dust and doesn't damage the gel coat

What is the size requirement for this windshield in the nose on Jr Sportsman Champ?
