Dan Kapuscinski Motorsports Promotions - OSWEGO, NY (February 12, 2020) – Dan Kapuscinski Motorsports Promotions is excited to announce the addition of a PKC weekly championship in 2020, recognizing CNY karting’s ‘Weekend Warriors.’

The PKC ‘Weekend Warriors’ championship format will total a driver’s best 12 finishes across all Non-PRO events at PKC facilities including Can-Am Speedway, Oswego Kartway and Weedsport Kartway.

For 2020, the PKC ‘Weekend Warriors’ will include only senior divisions, with Clone Light, Clone Heavy and Clone Super Heavy as part of the season long tilt, which could see a maximum of 36 events scored.

Awards and bragging rights will be on the line for the inaugural CNY championship, modeled after DIRTcar’s Hoosier Racing Tire Weekly Championship.

“This is something I have wanted to try for many years and I figured now was the time,” said PKC Promoter, Dan Kapuscinski. “I want to try it in 2020 and just see how it plays out. If it seems to be a positive experience for everyone, we will include more divisions in 2021. Money will not be a part of this program. A $20 member fee will be required to earn points, which will be returned via championship trophies and/or plaques at season’s end. This is more about supporting local race tracks and bragging rights, than anything else.”

PRO Kart Challenge 360 events, or any events that award money, will not be included in the ‘Weekend Warriors’ master schedule. Non-PRO races run on PKC weekends will count for the ‘Weekend Warriors’ title.

The ‘Weekend Warriors’ season begins on Saturday, May 2 at Can-Am Speedway and will conclude on Saturday, October 17 at Weedsport Kartway. In between there will be more than 30 events for drivers to score points, in search of their best 12 finishes.

Can-Am features a total of 16 events with Oswego conducting 15 and Weedsport putting on five shows in 2020.

Registration information will be available soon for both the PRO Kart Challenge and the PKC ‘Weekend Warriors.’ A registration discount will be provided for those drivers that sign up for both championships.
