Degrees on motor mount

What does the degree on motor mounts refer to and why does it make a difference. How would I determine what I have (got a couple in a buyout).

Only use enough to keep the engine, carb and air filter off the tire. If you can run a flat mount and clear the tire, run a flat mount.

Degrees above the horizon.
15* is about 2.5 inches in the back .
7.5 is like an inch .
The flip mounts vary but seems like 12.5 and 7.5 approximately.
Set it on a flat surface , no butterflies or studs . Put a angle finder , protractor or smart phone with app on it .
