Dirt Oval To Asphalt Oval

Dan we used to race dirt on Thursdays, asphalt on Fridays, then back to dirt on Saturday a few years ago, with the same kart. Got old real quick lol. Biggest thing was caster, moving lr hub for track width with the different size wheels, moving the rear axle up and down. We also had complete thick and thin wall axles to swap. We had it all scaled out both ways and it was close. Had an adjustable cassette on the LR which was the easiest way to add or subtract cross. Just write everything down and go at it. You don't need a 5 degree spindle to be fast on asphalt, so don't rush out to buy one.

Put a LF wheel on the LR, slide the hub to get your tread width back to where it was, put 10lb tire press on the right and 8 on the left and go race! You should be in the ball park to start. Don't run your prepped dirt tires, they'll be too soft and will lock you down. Get a heat gun/tire scraper, Scraping the tires is important on asphalt.
