Dominant ??

I am a firm believer in the driver being the dominant factor in UAS racing. It doesn't matter how much power you have if you can't been smooth and keep it hooked to the track.

There's a ton of factors in the term Dominant, The Sudam was Dominant in sales and use and wins for years in UAS style racing, The IAME 2 stroke Dominant in Open kart racing for over 20 years, Drivers can and have been Dominant for given limits of time, Tire manufacturers have experienced Dominant sales and use of their products. The Term what wins on Sunday sells on Monday has allot to do with what becomes a Dominant aspect of any form of racing. The driver and or team have more to do with the application of their particular choices for performance and then those results will produce what becomes viewed as Dominant. JMO

Money. The guy or team with 20 sets of tires and gallons of prep on a brand new chassis with factory setup guys and the best drive train money can buy with the best tuning guys in the sport are the ones that will be out front the most. Maybe not all the time because even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. With a combination like that, almost any driver could be out front.

All great replies - In UAS racing you really need the whole package to be Dominant, bolt on talent may win you a race but it takes racing talent to run up front consistently - Tim nailed it when he said "Application of their particular choices for performance". Preparation is at least 90% of your race, most races are won or lost from the garage, Skill Sets - there are 2 - (Driving skills, and Mechanical skills) One of the most important and most overlooked factors in Kart racing is History, take notes on a consistent basis, all the Dominant Teams in Motorsports do and they refer to them in preparation, and lastly it sometimes helps to have a little Luck!

Look at it like this:

Which would have more success?
(A) a team, or
(B) a group of individuals

The complete package is of far more value than any group led by individual components.
