Invented in 1904 . With a standard straight drive screw .
Now in 2022 , some bright eyed inventor changed to square drive ...
Thats supposed to be progress .
I think not.

(**&^%$# and.... and this dumb armature electrician always forgets to screw the green grounding screw in which makes it REAL HARD to put the new outlet in an old steel box without kicking it with yer foot. ... :)

Depends if you are selling tools, or outlets.

Are the screws still inch, or metric?
Could also be a means if tracking the age of the outlet.

No Doubt .
I got square drive screw driver's
A Phillips sorta works and the straight blade slots super thin .
Had the same issue last year when i changed my electric panel .
Can not see a reason too change something so simple.

Electricians where I work use a hybrid screwdriver bit. It's a combination of slotted and square drive. You can get them at most electrical stores. I've been doing it wrong all these years too. Lol
I'm a carpenter, NOT an electrician.

Square drives are (imo) superior to slotted.

However, every toolbox has a flathead. May be beat up from years of misuse, but would still get the job done most of the time.
