Facebook raffles

At first i thought it was just them not knowing how to spell. Then i saw it from other people, i think facebook has a filter of some sort if you put raffle in the title it probably flags it

FB definitely as filters for stuff like that. I was selling some motorcycle stands a while back, and my add kept getting flagged and taken down because they were Pitbull brand.

oh yeah why would anyone ever want to save a buck? lol I don't understand why anyone drives ford when they can just save up and buy a BMW. You don't happen to know my mother in law do you?

Yeah the people putting on the raffle make some money but how much did the person who received the kart pay for it? My guess would be less than $100. The seller makes a little money and the winner gets a sweet deal. I have no objection other than the vice involved in gambling

Because it’s most likely not saving you a buck. If you can save $100 for a raffle ticket, just wait a year or so and buy the $1200 used kart.
The Ford and BMW analogy is flawed because when you buy a ford, you at least get a car.

yeah but then im still buying a kart for $1200 when I would rather pay $100. even if i had to play 11 times before i win i would still save money and more importantly time i dont have to spend saving for a kart instead i use the $1100 i potentially save to buy other kart stuff lol the analogy is just to illustrate that some us are on a budget and for a gambler the prospect of an $100 kart is worth a gamble

I don’t understand why anybody would do this anyway. Just save up your money and buy what you want.
Because I won a new seat for $10, full set of tires for $20, I’ve won other stuff to 💰 and clutch rebuilds.
if you don’t like the fun and gamble don’t play the game.
You‘ve never played the lottery, a raffle ticket or went to the casino in your life huh ?

I play the lottery as a legitimate part of my investment strategy. I gamble at the casino with a set amount that if I lose it all, the entertainment is worth it.
Gambling for kart parts isn’t my idea of fun, but to each his own.

I dont disagree with the thrill of winning a $500 tach for $20 , but what is going on is illegal gambling , and the fact that that same person for (who is not a legit business is now selling for example a tach or tires or wheels or whatever out from under a legit kart shop that is trying to feed his family

Most of the people I have met who run raffles in other relms of interest have been the owners of a business that also sold X. The legality is another thing but as a consumer I will take advantage of whatever means that allows me to get a sweeter deal. I don't blame owners of legit businesses for getting upset but from my perspective if you can't beat em join em or at least lobby to change the law
