Flat head stroke

Are all flat heads the same stroke (birggs)?
how would i measure stroke??
if i don't have a motor mocked up??
i assume stroke with piston and rod in the jug, would be TDC to BDC.

Lay ends of crank in vee blocks. With rod journal down, measure from reference surfac to top of journal. Rotate so rod journal is up. Measure to top of journal.
Subtract first measurement from second measurement .

A bit crude but will get reasonably close. For exact, assemble in block and measure with dial indicator.

Flathead stock 5 hp is 2.437 stroke

2 7/16ths with a ruler.
