Flathead Spark Plug

I am gonna buy a flathead from a guy in a sell out in my local town and the spark plug in it is bent outside off the head. Like the white piece is broken and the metal in it is bent back on both of them. Why is that. Did they get broken or did people do that for a reason?

125 is what I am paying it has a really nice loop header on it. I was just wondering because the ceramic on all the spark plugs he has are broken and they bend the end of the plug.

If it is bent above the cylinder head (ie visible from the outside when installed) then it is likely a "plug" used for shipping purposes.
Often times, we get engines in with broken/bent spark plugs because the shipper had the box upside down a time or two (or three.)

Shipping with a plug that is purposely bent over will keep it from poking through the top of the box. It could even make the shipping a couple bucks cheaper due to the box being a couple inches shorter without the tall plug and wire connected to it.
