Flathead Stock Carb Flush

That would be ideal...BUT, if you are competing at a track that does fuel tech, you will not want any gas in your fuel tank whatsoever...it will get you dinged on post race fuel tech.
If you're backyard racing or where there is no fuel tech, simply empty your tank of alcohol (a turkey baster or kerosene hand pump works great) then put just a splash of gas in the tank and runt hat through the engine. A little Marvel Mystery oil mixed with the gas will work even better as a purge fuel, but again...IF you are competing at a track with fuel tech (or ever intend to) DO NOT purge fuel through the tank.

You can squirt some purge fuel in the air horn while the engine is running, or fog it with WD40, if you need to keep your fuel pure.

You'll probably want to change spark plugs before doing this as well.

Thanks Brian!

This engine IS box stock, the lifter area has not been welded on.

Any chance you can attach a pic of that?
Any machining necessary after welding??

You will need to chamfer the lifter bores afterward. We run a straight reamer from the valve guide down through the lifter bores to get them more parallel and to size (closer tolerance.) Sometimes a lifter guide is necessary as well.
