Fuel for predator 212

Is there any need to run higher octane gas in predator hemi 212 with billet flywheel, mod 2 cheater cam, thin head gasket, .615 blueprinted carb, and 22lb valve springs ?

It all depends on your compression ratio. How many cc's in the combustion chamber. Octane is only a measure of the fuel's ability to resist detonation. Excessive heat and/or pressure causes detonation.

I would try the next octane higher first, if you're times improve, try the next higher, so on and so forth.

It's possible that a colder plug, by itself, would help you with the low octane. Finding the right combination is the goal, right plug, right compression, right fuel, right jetting, right timing.

I have seen people do E85 swaps on predator 212, just putting that idea out there. On youtbe there is a video about building an E85 predator. It is by cars and cameras and they dot a bunch of power by switching to E85, bad thing about that fuel is how corosive it is.

All depends where or if you race . The corrosive statement is a truth. That leads too do you want the trouble that brings .
That was another benifit of the clone , over the flathead and animal .
No messing with flushing the carb , you could buy fuel any where and pull start .
