Gearing Question

Hi All - Question on what clutch gear to use vs rear gear.

Going to be racing on a 1/7 mile clay oval, pretty sandy 1 grove track. Is it better to have a higher clutch gear and lower rear gear or vice versa? This is a green plated clone motor in the junior 1 class for a flat kart and engine is set to be prime in the RPM range of 5400-5800.

Just looking for a place to start that would fit a track this size.

Which ever front size works to keep the rear between a 58 and 62 which for a 1/7 mile I'd start on a 17/58 and go from there.
