So the old carbs totally gunked up cleaned the fuel chamber.
Pretty sure i buggered the seat trying too ream the needle well clean . If i gotta take it apart and all i order new carb . On arrival , i see its a bigger throttle bore.
Oh well .
Now it wants to run on when switched off .
What's y'all's opinion about using a restrictor plate sized as the original carb . Think it might cure
The issue ?

I took the advice from others on here when my OE carb went to junk and just ordered an Amazon aftermarket carb. Haven't had a single issue since and for the cheap price it was 100% worth going aftermarket. Didn't even give myself a chance to become frustrated with the OE carb and that alone was worth the price haha.

Thats where I got the carb. Runs fine. Just runs on after shutting the key off . Thats why the question about a restrictor.

Something in the combustion chamber is staying hot enough to keep it running.

Engine may be too lean with the bigger carb (less fuel signal).

Restrictor plate is gonna hurt the signal even more.

I would look at the plug carefully first.
Raise the float level if you can, etc.
Wrap something around the air filter for experimenting purposes. Choke partially on.
If it shuts off, go bigger on the jet.

I had in my mind less signal less fuel .
Funny you mentioned air cleaner, it was not on .
Thanks for the insight .
