A gold plate FH and unrestricted are super close, I’d let him fly without the plate.

Loop pipe or muffler?

50 with a loop, 52 with a muffler, of course you can experiment further.
A lot depends on the offset of the throttle shaft and the amount of vacuum at the short stem.

Muffler, only track I know of that we could run the loop is ben hur which is 4 hours one way driving
