I have a go kart with a 212 tillotson de governed 3 stage header and upgraded breather, .038 jet,15tooth clutch 35 chain, 60 tooth sprocket on 5inch rims.i can only hit up to 50 mph what's the best way to gain more speed? Engine runs and sounds great no sputters or anything.

I hope youre not running it on the street, its not condoned here.
Gear change will get you more top end, but will effect botom

Mainly on grass sometimes on country rds near my house nobody ever says anything.i have a 53 tooth sprocket I was gonna try but I didn't think there would be much difference from the 60

you can try the 53, but it'll bog that puppy down a lot. speed is dependent on RPM, so the higher you rev it out the higher it'll go. Cant tell you exactly how fast the 15, 53 combo will do with the aerodynamics of a brick though.

In the days of the flathead, street race, no bodies, and a minimal driver fairing. 55mph was the limit, unless drafting in a group.
Horsepower vs aero drag.

My buddy has an 8hp flat head hitting 60s right now that's why I gotta do better than 50 lol

I'm assuming you don't have a tachometer, is that right? How will you determine if you're going faster? If you put the 53 sprocket on, and you don't lose 700 RPM (approximate, but close) you'll be going faster. You could leave the gear where it's at, or put the 53 on, and put a bigger carburetor on. Those engines do tend to break if you turn too many RPMs.
