Govenor RPM

Under free spin my kart will hit the govenor at 5350. But when under load on the track it is coming in around 4850. I would like to get it to 5k under load but not exceed 5500 on the stand.

This is a box stock ducar 212

Every lap is like this.

So you reduce the load on the engine when it is on the track, lose weight, improve driving, free kart up.

Or change spring to change characteristics of governor.

Right now, throttle bade has to close well before 5500 to keep from revving past that number. That means the engine is being restricted (not making as much power) so peak power is below 5000 rpm.
The ones that have this figured out are not likely to give away the information.

The maximum rpm I have seen in my two years teching consistently at two tracks every weekend ( over 250 engines ) was a 5050. Max allowed was 5500. On that particular evening the track had a bad bump coming out of 4. I am sure the kart lifted there and the rpm jumped. That was off his tach. When I put my tach on it 5400 was the number.
