Gx 340 to mikuni swap.. what size?

Kaboom 2 soon

New member
I want to use a mikuni or similar carb on my Honda gx 340.It is minus govenor, has a custom pipe and will be getting HD valve springs.Id like to know what size (mm) carb to use that would get me reasonably close to being able to dial / re jet it to get a decent idle and basically not drown in fuel it cant process into turf ripping foward thrust. Ive been looking for some input for a while now and im about to but a stock clone carb on it just so I can finally use it. BLESSINGS 2 ALL

Me i would find a carb off a 125 cc 2 stroke or a equal size 4 stroke .dirt bike quad or snowmobile. Something thats similar size to the spacer .

24mm will be adequate for what you are doing. 28mm allows a little growing room.

If you want to grow your build a bit more in the future, then you could go with my favorite, the 33 pumper Mikuni - then you can go considerably bigger with cam, port cc, and valve size.
