Doing some basic ”flow testing“ of some new Honda gx160 carburettors on flow bench today.
At the start of this little project I bought 6 brand New un run Honda gx160 engines all boxed and unrun
all 6 engines had types and codes legal to current uk Honda cadet rules
Also the carbs are all marked with correct type
all had same bore (smallest diameter) well within .003”
you can see by eye that most of these carbs are slightly different to each other in finish
but I still expected the carbs results to be pretty close to each other ?
i was wrong,
out of the 6 carbs
1 gave best results by far
Next 2 were near identical to each other
The remaining 3 were not even close ,
so
NEXT
i will test all 6 again but mounted to a cylinder head and test again.
Then I Need to test ,measure air speed/velocity threw them all
good fun this
