GX270 head on a 420 clone

will it work? buddy has the 420 head out being worked on, has a gx270 head on wants to put in on to run this weekend, any issues doing that?

Will it fit? Yes. Should bolt right on. Smaller runners, smaller valves, smaller chamber. So you will have increased compression but grossly reduced flow. That is if its stock. It will require bigger seats and valves to flow like a 390/420 head. Flow is not everything however. Cubcadet70 may have some experience in this exact area, I think. Good luck
