Head start on JAWA....

Someone on here was looking for a JAWA source....ran across this:

There's a complete JAWA speedway bike on that auction site now, BIN price of around $4K IIRC.
Located in FL. I thought about it, but already owe to much to the bank....

Whomever gets it could relist the bike and have a complete JAWA for $2500....

Please PM me for the address to mail the finders' fee to...... ;)

Mike -- Just curious why that's so? As far as what I've read, the JAWA design hasn't changed much over the past, oh, 30 yrs. :) What are the differences between the old and new? I know they have a stand-up and laydown model... Won't matter for me -- when I upgrade it will be another 2 cycle. But I do like to become informed on such things....

EDIT: Perhaps this site will help: http://www.ams-jawa.cz/en/

There's a bunch of Jawas, 2 valve heads, 4 valve twin cams, 4 valve single cam, long stroke, short stroke, blah blah blah.

Yeh and nice w/c engine they have now. BTW, i dont think that is the Jawa website, licensed contractor for Jawa sidecar engine. The speedway bikes are laydown cylinder type.

The engines of choice are the Speedway models; can be laydown or upright version. The CZ models similar to early mx type just do not have what it takes to make HP.

I would guess the 884 or the 888 as these are 4 valve head engines. The 886 is a 2 valve head. The 884 is the long stroke and the 888 is the short stroke.

I built the 884 first and last winter I built the 889 we have dynoed and practiced the 889 but we have not needed to race it yet.
