Header wrap

What do most folks use to keep the header wrap from unwrapping? I’m thinking a hose clamp. Any other suggestions?

i use both but I like the sleeve waaay better

that’s the rubber coated heat sleeve. It’s like the stuff on the right with high temp silicone over it

I’m trying to wrap a weenie pipe that came with a brace welded on. I think I’ve got it figured out. I’m just going to use a hose clamp on the loose end.

Sound waves travel through air increasingly faster as the air temperature goes up. I've read it goes about 1 1/2 ft./s faster with a 1° increase in air temperature.
I read that in Gordon Jennings book.
Wrapping the header retains heat. The more heat it retains, the faster the sound waves travel. I'm wondering; do manufacturers test for the right length with or without wrapping? I'm wondering if it makes any significant difference.

Sound waves yes, but does that mean that air (exhaust) moves faster? And of course when it is hotter it has a greater volume to move in relation to it's mass.

The performance purpose of header wrap is to maintain the flow rate longer, allowing the gasses to travel further away from the exhaust port before they start to cool and become more dense.

That is not my purpose though. I just want to make sure I’m legal.

Here’s NKA. I read the wrap is required.
