Hey guys I have this exact same problem. Is it bad to run wire directly from the solenoid itself?
I took both the wires off the ignition and touched them to each other and they had a little spark but nothing else. Didn't turn the motor over or anything. I think that means its not the switch and something else......?

Yet you might have let the smoke out .

Smoke is the thing that makes electrical circuits work. We know this
to be true because every time one lets the smoke out of an electrical
circuit, it stops working. This can be verified repeatedly through
empirical testing.
The function of the wiring harness is to conduct the smoke from one
device to another. When the wiring springs a leak and lets all the
smoke out of the system, nothing works afterward .

Seriously starting with post #1 . Follow through not eliminating anything as (it's not that ) . A test light and or volt meter are a must .

Ok. Guess ill have to pick a volt meter up then. Is it not good to just hook a couple wires up to the stator?
You have a great sense of humor. So basically if the test light lights up then... that means the wire is good?
