Is this common?Unfortunately the only two ways I know too fix it .
Are add a brace or take the side panel loose and push it forward , then redrill the mounting holes .
Excellent idea!I will make one!Thanksget yourself some 1/4 aluminum strap and attach it to your top bolt on your front porch mount then pull your body up away from the tire and mark where it needs drilled to hold it up. Then loosen the side panels open those holes up a bit and work the body up off the tire. I use 1/2 plywood strips on top my tire so when it’s tight you got a good 1/2 of clearance and it’s now supported and solid. View attachment 12160View attachment 12161

Nope, in our 12 years we’ve never used braces and we’ve been through a lot of different body manufacturers. Is this common?
I agree! Thanks for the tip!Sweet, there ya go ! That will pay for itself the first time you get to bumping and banging!
Both the bodies I've "hung" this year needed braces. How can one keep from needing to do this?Nope, in our 12 years we’ve never used braces and we’ve been through a lot of different body manufacturers.
Same, never had to brace one up. If we screwed up mounting it, and mounted the side panels too low or didn't have the nose brackets high enough, we'd have tire contact and have to start over.Nope, in our 12 years we’ve never used braces and we’ve been through a lot of different body manufacturers.
Yep. The tried and true method that Josh mentioned works every time.First scale the kart and have it close without body.
Then bolt body together ensuring side panels are flat on ground front to rear.
Put kart on ground with race tires at race psi. Then use 1” tubing under the nose and side panels to set your ground clearance, while marking your holes. Should be good to go if using a quality body.
Not really sure lol. I’ve always used quality bodies, PRC back in the day and mainly whatever Slack is selling now. Both the bodies I've "hung" this year needed braces. How can one keep from needing to do this?
